Who we are

What we collect, and when
Contact form. When you write to us through our contact page, we receive the name, email address, subject and message you provide. We use it only to reply to you.
Newsletter. When you subscribe, we collect your email address so we can send you our travel stories and guides. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from our list. No spam, ever — that promise is part of this policy, not just our homepage.
Comments. When you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address and optional website you enter, along with the comment itself and your IP address (which helps us detect spam). Your name and comment are displayed publicly; your email address is not.
Analytics. Like most websites, we use analytics to understand which guides people find useful. See the next section for details.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive personal information such as government ID numbers or payment details. We never sell personal information.
Cookies and Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see anonymised, aggregate information about how visitors use the site — for example, which articles are read most and roughly where in the world our readers are. The site is served over HTTPS, and we limit access to any personal data to the people who run this site. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information you share with us.
