Every guide on Mums Travels is written from trips we actually took, with our own photos, prices and mishaps — so we take copyright seriously in both directions. We work hard to publish only original content, and we respond promptly to legitimate copyright concerns under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
Our commitment
Mums Travels respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects the same of anyone contributing to this site. If you believe that content on mumstravels.com infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice as described below, and we will investigate and act on valid notices quickly — typically within 2–5 business days.
Designated agent
Send copyright notices to our designated agent:
Copyright Agent — Mums Travels
Attn: Site Owner
Email: [email protected] (subject line: “DMCA Notice”)
Filing a DMCA takedown notice
For your notice to be valid under the DMCA, it must include all of the following:
- Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (or, if multiple works are covered by one notice, a representative list);
- Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough information for us to locate it — the exact URL(s) on mumstravels.com is best;
- Your contact information: name, mailing address, telephone number and email address;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf;
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Incomplete notices may be treated as invalid. Please note that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys’ fees.
What happens after we receive a valid notice
Upon receiving a complete and valid notice, we will remove or disable access to the identified material, make a reasonable attempt to notify the person who posted it, and document the notice for our records.
Counter-notification
If material you posted was removed and you believe this was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the same agent above. It must include:
- Identification of the material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal;
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification;
- Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which Mums Travels may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice;
- Your physical or electronic signature.
If we receive a valid counter-notification, we may restore the removed material in 10–14 business days unless the original complainant informs us that they have filed a court action.
Repeat infringers
In appropriate circumstances, we will terminate the accounts or contribution privileges of users who are repeat infringers.
Not legal advice
This page describes our procedure; it is not legal advice. If you are unsure whether material infringes your copyright, consider consulting a lawyer before filing a notice.
