Eating in Singapore – Lunch @ DC Comics Super Hero Cafe, Marina Bay Sands

DC Comics Super Hero Cafe @ Marina Bay Sands

During the Sept school holidays earlier this month, I arranged for a girls’ day out with DD.  We decided to go to Marina Bay Sands to visit the Art Science Museum.

We started our outing with lunch at DC Comics Super Hero Cafe.  We arrived around 1pm and waited about 5 mins before being seated.

The restaurant was well themed with lots of comics super hero life size figurine and comics wall posters.  Menu was fun with drinks and food named after the various comic superheroes.

There is also a counter at the entrance of the cafe with a beautiful display of superhero themed cakes and dessert which were so tempting!

DD decided to have the Batman wagyu beef burger ($28.90) while I had the Superman hotdog (18.90).  We also ordered the Joker’s nachos ($13,90) to share.  I didn’t realize that my hotdog was coming with nachos.  Otherwise, I would not have ordered it.

Food tastes pretty good and both DD and I enjoyed our burger and hotdog.   But it was disappointing that they don’t even know how the superman logo look like and actually stick it upside down on my hotdog!  This spells of lack of quality control.  I would have thought that a theme restaurant should have been more careful with such details when they are charging so much for the theme experience.

For drinks DD had the Flash Ice Blended Strawberry drink ($9.90) and I had the Sweet Lychee Amazonia drink ($9.90) .  Food price was expensive but I felt still ok given that this is a themed restaurant. But drinks are really expensive. They do not serve water here and if you want water, you need to pay for bottled water with super hero labels which cost SGD5.90 which I found ridiculous. So I decided to get a lychee drink for SGD9.90 instead.

Drinks in Superman themed glasses. The glasses even came with a superman cape!

We were so full that we did not have anymore room for the tempting dessert.

Our total bill came up to SGD95.93 for both of us.  Overall the food actually tasted pretty good even though they are somewhat overpriced. But this is to be expected for themed restaurants.  They just need to get their logos right!!  This is a must visit place for DC comics fans.

After lunch, we browsed the cafe’s gift shop.  Things here are as expected very expensive.  Bought DD the Harley Quinn “Dad’s Little Monster” t-shirt which cost SGD75 !!  Told DD that she need to wear it every week to make my money’s worth!
